It’s been a busy start to the year for JP Sound, jam packed with weddings mini mixes, club sets, charity events and school discos! Let’s take a look back at some of my highlights of the year so far…
Lunar New Year Party, Benenden School
2023 kicked off down at Benenden School, Kent, where I assisted the staff in throwing a Lunar New Year Party for their students! In keeping with the theme, I programmed the lights & lasers in the traditional colours of this celebration, gold and red, via SoundSwitch. This piece of software has formed such a key part in what I offer to clients and allows immense flexibility when configuring custom lighting set ups, syncing up perfectly with the Denon Prime 4 DJ Mixer. It was this bit of kit that really helped the party to be the success that it was.
The music brief for this event was a mixture of K Pop and C Pop (Korean and Chinese Pop Music) which I hadn’t had much exposure to in all honesty. Thankfully the Prime 4 DJ Mixer, which forms the centrepiece of my set up, connects to both Tidal Music, Amazon Music and Sound Cloud over WiFi, meaning I was able to play every request made on the night, to the great delight of the kids!
The custom logo printed on the front of the DJ Booth also went down a treat.

It is always a pleasure to be apart of a Wedding day, wether that is providing the music for the evenings entertainment or, like with this event, providing a PA System and Wireless Microphone for the Speeches and MC at the Wedding Breakfast. For The Brooks’ Wedding it was the latter.
Tom and his wife, Zoe, also utilised the Speech Recording Service I offer to capture the speeches made on the day. As part of this service I handle all the recording, mixing and editing of the speeches, so that they can be listened back to, shared and enjoyed again.

This was an incredibly special event! Hosted at the beautiful Villa Kalyana, located on a sunny beach on the island of Koh Samui, Thailand, this event was always going to be a highlight in the calendar.
A music brief not too dissimilar to a Saturday night at Ministry of Sound or Fabric, coupled with a crowd who were full to the brim of Vitamin D and buzzing to extend the previous days Wedding Celebrations, culminated in one of the most raucous “Recovery Day” parties I have ever been booked for!
Motor Neurone Disease Association - Charity Fundraiser
Working alongside great industry professionals like Brooks Marquee Hire and Brooks Bars is always joy, and especially so when it is helping to raise money for a fantastic cause!
